What a wet day for leading a walk with the Ramblers, it was a good going bunch of folk.
From the end of Quarry Road where an official path route starts, we will take this route going past a disused quarry along the crags to Lewis Hill trig point. On returning we will scout down to the North Third Reservoir and return back the same route.
Terrain: Very short sections on road, thereafter good, well defined, paths and occasional forestry tracks. Can be wet/muddy underfoot with several short but steep ascents.
Distance: 12 km, duration 5 hrs, total ascent 700 m to max. ht. 266 m.
Start point: End of Quarry Road, Cambusbarron.
