Scottish Natural Heritage on the John Muir Way

More of the Way .. If you enjoy the John Muir Way then you will be delighted to know that the route between Helensburgh and Balloch has been enhanced by a new upland path near Gowk Hill. Another upland option is being created through the Kilpatrick Hills between Carbeth and Balloch, offering an alternative to the existing low level route. Ron McCraw, of Scottish Natural Heritage noted that “This route improvement has been well supported by the public, local groups and businesses, and give users a great upland and wilder experience within Central Scotland”.
