Through the Glens, with dip. Isle of Arran

The walk starts gently in Glen Sannox to the navigation beacons, past the remains of a former Barytes mine, across Sannox Burn and upstream into the glacial U-shaped valley where a good mountain path leads up to The Saddle (432m).

The climb out of Glen Sannox does involve a hands-on scramble up Whin Dyke, a steep and rocky granite gully.

Avoiding the steep slopes heading off to the west and south east, the route heads into Glen Rosa descending down a gentle gradient alongside the Glenrosa Water then to Brodick.
